Wings 'n Things

Description: Wings 'n Things is presented by the Florida Air Museum at Sun 'n Fun and showcases the dynamic world of aviation. You are invited to attend the Campout event Friday, November 2nd on the Sun ‘n Fun Fly-In grounds. Campers will enjoy information shared by a NASA guest speaker and gain related experiences during our Friday night program. |

Lakeland Christmas Parade

Lakeland Pig Fest

Description: The Lakeland Pig Festival is an annual Florida State Barbecue Championship. What started as a small festival in 1997 has evolved into a festival that with over 300 BBQ teams and over 30,000 in attendance and is growing rapidly each year. The pig festival has generated over $100,000 in contributions to charitable organizations within Polk County since 1997. |

Lemon Street Celebration

Description: The Lemon Street Celebration is a public reception and street party in honor of the Lakeland Component of the Seventh Annual Florida Outdoor Sculpture Competition, a joint project of the City of Lakeland, the City of Winter Haven, and Polk Museum of Art. The Lakeland prize winners will be announced at that time, and the public is invited to vote for their favorite piece of artwork. The piece with the most votes will win the People's Choice Award. |

Mayfaire by-the-Lake

Description: Begun in 1974 as a crafts fair on the lawn of the Lakeland Public Library, Volvo Mayfaire by-the-Lake has grown into one of Florida's premier outdoor art festivals. Held on Mother's Day weekend each year, Mayfaire is located on the shores of beautiful Lake Morton in downtown Lakeland, Florida. Mayfaire is one of the largest and oldest outdoor art festivals in Central Florida. Come see why it has such a great reputation!

Cardboard Boat Challenge & Lakeshore Festival
Date: September 6, 2008
Location: Lake Hollingsworth Boat Ramp
Description: This event is designed to help raise public awareness about our lakes and the precious resources we have in our area. Environmental exhibitors will provide fun activities for children and supply information on area lakes and water resources. Entertainment will be the Cardboard Boat Challenge!
The challenge will be to design, construct and race a boat made of cardboard around a marked course in Lake Hollingsworth. |
